About Air Senegal

Air Senegal is the national carrier of the Republic of Senegal, established in 2016 by the Senegalese government as part of the Plan Sénégal Émergent — the country's long-term economic development strategy. The airline began commercial operations in 2018 and is headquartered at Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) in Diass, near Dakar.

Air Senegal was created to reconnect Senegal to international destinations, strengthen intra-African air links, and position Dakar as a leading aviation hub in West Africa. It replaced the former Air Sénégal International, which ceased operations in 2009.

The airline operates a modern, fuel-efficient fleet anchored by the Airbus A330-900neo wide-body jets for long-haul routes and Airbus A321neo aircraft for medium-haul services across Africa and Europe. ATR 72-600 turboprops serve domestic and regional destinations, ensuring connectivity to smaller communities across Senegal and neighbouring countries.

Air Senegal's route network spans destinations across West and Central Africa, North Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, with key routes linking Dakar to Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Casablanca, Abidjan, Bamako, Conakry, Libreville, and beyond. The airline's mission is to make Dakar a true aviation crossroads for the African continent — improving accessibility, supporting tourism, and driving economic growth.

As a state-owned carrier with a youthful fleet and an expanding international footprint, Air Senegal embodies Senegal's ambition to take its rightful place on the world stage of civil aviation.
