About Air Algerie

Air Algérie is the national flag carrier of Algeria, headquartered at Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers. Established in 1947, the airline has grown from a modest regional operator into the backbone of Algerian civil aviation, serving destinations across North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.

Operating under the IATA code AH, Air Algérie connects Algeria's major cities — Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Annaba, and others — to more than 70 international and domestic destinations. The airline plays a vital role in linking Algeria's large diaspora communities in France, Spain, Italy, and other European nations with their homeland.

As a state-owned carrier, Air Algérie serves both a commercial and a strategic national mission, maintaining connectivity between remote domestic communities and the capital while supporting Algeria's economic and cultural ties abroad. The airline operates a mixed fleet of Boeing and Airbus wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, as well as ATR turboprops for shorter regional routes.

Over the decades, Air Algérie has continuously modernised its operations, investing in newer aircraft types, improving in-flight services, and expanding its route network. The carrier remains committed to safety, operational reliability, and delivering an authentic Algerian hospitality experience to passengers in the air.
